This book is a recollection of daily life with Freddie Mercury by a man who truly cared for him and stayed with him through the ups and downs of his illness. There are lots of funny and interesting stories of their years together--the last 6-7 years of Freddie's life. He highlights their travels, Freddie's love of shopping and gift-giving, and provides details about Freddie's likes and dislikes, etc. The photos-in color- are worth the price of the book alone!Any Freddie fan will enjoy this book- you feel like you've gotten to know him a little better on the personal side of his life. On par with the Peter Freestone book--I enjoyed both equally. Of course, the account of his illness and passing is VERY sad. The author also follows up on the next 2 years after Freddie's death and the troubles he had with Freddie's friend Mary, who inherited his home. This book is definitely worth reading, but I am still waiting for a good, comprehensive biography of his entire life-a man I believe to be the greatest singer/entertainer in rock history and a truly good soul.Read full review
Book was good, quick easy read. It is one persons side of a story so just remember that. In the end, regardless of what’s been written about Freddie Mercury whether true or not, the tragedy lies in the loss of such an amazing artist, taken way too soon and never to be replicated. The copy of the book I purchased did not have color photos inside, just black and white and not very clear.

This book gives you wonderful insight to the human being named Freddie Mercury. Even with all his faults, he was still loved. I love reading about man underneath the rockstar. It shows that nobody is perfect. I admire him so much not only for his music but the fact that I know he was far from perfect but he embraced it. I would have loved to have known Freddie personally. The book arrived in perfect condition and in good time. I will definitely be reading it more than just once. A subtle reminder that it okay to not be perfect.

For anyone who is interested in the personal life of Freddie Mercury and how he met his last lover, written after Freddie's death. Anecdotes about the people who assisted and drove for Freddie, Freddie's friends, and all the trips Jim took with "his man", even what they shopped for and how they gave each other wedding rings before gay people could legally wed in Great Britain. A sensitive and heartfelt account of Jim's experience during and after his life with (arguably) the world's greatest rock singer.

LOVE this book! It came securely packaged, and a lot quicker than I was expecting, considering it had to come all the way from the UK. I've been a life-long Queen fan, and knew I just had to get this book. Highly recommend it for any Queen fans out there!
